Tattoo FAQ*Does a tattoo hurt?
Yes—all tattoos hurt. The pain is usually compared to scratching a sunburn or a cat scratch: annoying, but tolerable.⸻When will I see my design?
I don’t send designs before the appointment. On tattoo day, we’ll review the design together and make any minor changes or additions before starting.

(Any changes that require full redesign will need to be rescheduled so please be as thorough as possible during your consult)⸻How do I prepare for my tattoo appointment?
• Get a good night’s sleep.

• Avoid alcohol for at least 24 hours prior.

• Eat a solid, carb-heavy meal 1–2 hours before your session to keep blood sugar steady.

• Stay hydrated—bring water and snacks if you’d like.⸻Should I moisturize or shave beforehand?
• Keep your skin healthy and moisturized in the weeks leading up to your appointment.

• On tattoo day, arrive with clean, dry skin (no lotion right before).

• If you have coarse or dark body hair, shaving the area is recommended. Otherwise, I’ll shave it before stencil placement.⸻I have diabetes. How will this affect my tattoo?
Healing can take longer due to water retention, and the scabbing phase may be more intense.
